HVE has performed successfully the second life saving heart surgery on 16 years old boy from Mojo. In collaboration with Elousier cardiac center and volunteer local heart team we performed a free heart valve replacement for this young boy in five hours taking open heart surgery.
Tewodros was growing with his single mother being treated with local herbal tea whenever he got sick with recurrent tonsillitis. Because of this recurrent tonsillitis he developed severe form of rheumatic hear disease(RHD).
For the last 7 years he can hardly walk for 5 minutes. And discontinued his school at grade 4. He always wishes to play with his peers but he can’t. He wants to be a lorry driver and support his poor mother. After the successful heart surgery he underwent, Tewodros said he wants to pursue his school and be a doctor.
