Healing Valves Ethiopia (HVE) performed today the 15th free life-saving open-heart surgery for a 17 years old boy from Assasa. The boy was affected with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD), which led him to recurrent heart failure. He spent 10 years on follow up waiting for heart surgery and ultimately obliged the boy not to progress from grade Four. With the help of a solo person financial support for Christmas gift and the volunteer services of HVE, the severely damaged mitral valve was replaced in a four hours taking surgery.
